Welcome back to the 15 Minute Fantasy Writer video series!

We are going in depth to the tips shared in video 6, which was part 3 of world building. There we delved into the steps of how to create a fantasy map. Why? Because they are for more than your readers!

A good map, heck even a rough map with lots of squiggles you’d never show to your fans, will help you add new and realistic detail to your story like travel distance between towns (that stays consistent), landscape surrounding villages, climate, weather, and some hurdles you might not have thought of otherwise (like crossing that swamp. ugh!).

All that sounds good, but if you aren’t a fan of drawing, creating a map can feel intimidating. Not to worry! In this extra long episode (it goes over 15 mintues, sorry!) I show you the steps to creating a map and how rough it can be to start out. You have to start somewhere and this video will give you the confidence to give it a try on paper or in Photoshop like I show.
